Tour de Brisbane
Experience Australia’s ultimate Sunday bike ride with the Tour de Brisbane. On April 14th there will be over 110km of fully closed city roads, from the Showgrounds and the Story Bridge to busways and tunnels. Cyclists of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate in the Tour de Brisbane and cover whatever distance they want – go for a leisurely pedal with the family, challenge yourself to a ride of 50km or 80km, or qualify to race internationally in the 110km long ride.
As well as encouraging people to get outside and enjoy the unique environment that the river city has to offer, Tour de Brisbane is also an opportunity to make a difference by raising vital funds for life-saving transplant research. Tour de Brisbane has partnered with The Common Good to raise money for organ transplant research and related conditions such as heart disease.
Cycling Championships
If spectating is more your thing, you can catch all the action trackside at one of a number of cycling championships. Australia’s best track cyclists will compete in the Track National Championships from March 1st to 19th at Anna Meares Velodrome at the Sleeman Sports Complex in Chandler.
Heading outdoors, the Oceania Championships will take place from March 19th to April 14th. You can catch Mountain Bike Cross Country on March 23rd, BMX Freestyle on March 24th, Mountain Bike Downhill on April 6th and 7th, and Road Race on April 13th. All Oceania Championships are free events, so there’s no excuse not to support the competitors and be wowed by their incredible skills.
King Street Kick It
The King Street Kick It Crit Brisbane cycling event is where cycling, music and racing come together to create an incredible atmosphere under the lights of the King Street precinct in Fortitude Valley.
