Discover The New Brisbane

Brisbane is ranked one of the top 10 cities worldwide for lifestyle and talent, and it’s no wonder why. Queensland’s capital has undergone significant development over recent years and has evolved as a contemporary city that offers all the style and sophistication of its domestic counterparts, with world-class dining, luxury hotels and a thriving entertainment scene. Combine this with a subtropical climate and an average of 283 days of sunshine each year, and it’s clear that Brisbane is set to become Australia’s most dynamic city. Read on to discover the newest Brisbane attractions.

Queen’s Wharf

In the heart of the CBD lies Brisbane’s newest entertainment lifestyle precinct, Queen’s Wharf. The multi-billion-dollar project will be a game-changer for locals and tourists alike. Queen’s Wharf combines boutique hotels, residential apartments, retail spaces and a diverse range of dining options right on the banks of the Brisbane River. The destination has been purposely designed for entertainment and will house some of the biggest Brisbane attractions, including a state-of-the-art casino, The Star Brisbane, theatres and event spaces that will host live performances, concerts and community events.

Luxury hotels

Whether you’re visiting Brisbane for the first time or you’re a local seeking a staycation in your home city, you’ll be spoilt for choice with luxury accommodation. Queen’s Wharf alone houses four new hotels that exude opulence and comfort, including the 5-star The Star Grand Hotel and the 4.5-star Dorsett Hotel.

Named as the best hotel in Oceania in The World’s 50 Best Hotels awards, The Calile Hotel in Fortitude Valley is a highly sought-after, stylish urban retreat that seamlessly blends modern luxury with a laid-back atmosphere.

Another stand out in the Brisbane luxury accommodation scene is South Bank’s Emporium Hotel, which is renowned for its opulent design, stunning views and an infinity pool offering panoramic views of the Brisbane skyline.

World-class dining

Brisbane’s culinary scene is flourishing, with a diverse range of dining options that reflect the city’s innovation, creativity and passion. Howard Smith Wharves has quickly become one of the city’s premier dining destinations, combining waterfront views and a diverse range of culinary offerings. This includes the acclaimed Stanley Restaurant which has asserted itself as Brisbane’s top fine-dining Chinese and Cantonese restaurant, and Greca for contemporary Greek with the generous spirit of Mediterranean hospitality.

Discover Brisbane fine dining at new heights at Vertigo, Australia’s first vertical restaurant. Overhanging Brisbane Powerhouse, Vertigo is an exclusive gastronomic dining experience can be enjoyed four stories above the ground.

The new Queen’s Wharf offers a variety of world-class dining options, including Sokyo for cutting-edge Japanese and Black Hide Steak & Seafood for Queensland sourced seafood and a renowned selection of steaks.

Travel infrastructure

Already a well-connected city conveniently situated around the river, the latest travel infrastructure will only make the city even easier to get around and discover Brisbane. The public transport system, which already compromised a diverse mix of trains, buses and ferries, has welcomed the addition of all-new Brisbane Metro. As the Brisbane Metro continues to be rolled out, it will connect 18 stations across the city and with services running every five minutes during peak times, this innovative mode of public transport is the first of its kind in Australia.

To encourage active transport and make it simple to explore all the new Brisbane attractions on offer, the Bridges for Brisbane Program is delivering several new pedestrian and riding bridges. The Neville Bonner Bridge provides a new connection across the Brisbane River from Queen’s Wharf to South Bank’s arts and cultural precinct. More than just a bridge project, the Kangaroo Point Green Bridge will link Kangaroo Point to the CBD and feature an above-water restaurant and bar, riverside cafe and public viewing platforms.
