Ekka Rides

Get your heart pumping and that adrenaline flowing with the exciting rides on offer at the Ekka 2022! The ride list is out and it looks better than ever. Get abducted by aliens, get in the Dodge’ems, get on the Dragon Castle Ghost train, or take a ride down the longest slide in the Southern Hemisphere. There’s so much more, and it’s all about the fun.

Animals and Displays

Country meets City – and there’s a whole lot of country goodness that comes along! There are many different incredible animals to check out, and even pat in the RACQ Animal Nursery and Cradle-a-Chick. See how the country guys and gals do things with the Norco Milking Barn and the Sheep Shearing shed, and watch incredible horses strut their stuff in the sand. You’ll also be able to check out some truly inspiring arts and crafts. Listen to real bush poetry, visit the cooking stage for some ideas on what to do with that magical fresh produce, and see the many different displays showing some next level artistic ability.

Events and Entertainment

Whether you wander or plan your day to the minute, you’ll encounter some truly memorable events for the whole family. Your little ones can meet Bluey and Bingo, see the stars from Kangaroo Beach, see real reptiles at the Snake Boss Reptile Show, and see the many larger-than-life animal characters that wander the Ekka.

There’s plenty for the grown-ups as well. Athletes take to the air at the Airtime FMX shows, and Jeannie’s Dance Studio entertain guests with their range of hip-hop, jazz, and fitness shows. Then, when the light starts to fade, the EkkaNITES show begins. The Main Arena is the place to be, with world class entertainment, and unbelievable thrills and daring feats. This year’s theme is ‘It’s time to celebrate’. And celebrate we will, with horsemanship displays, extreme bikes, singing, and so much more, followed by the absolutely unbelievable fireworks display.

Ekka doesn’t finish at EkkaNITES! Make sure you check out all the fun activity happening each night around Ekka here! See some fantastic country music LIVE with Amy Sheppard, Casey Barnes, Jem Cassar-Daley and Taylor Moss to name a few artists gracing the stage from 8pm. With so many more things to do after EkkaNITES, don’t run off too quick (and get a few extra rides in before you do)! 

Getting to the Ekka 2022

The Ekka is located at the Brisbane Showgrounds. It’s easy to get there with public transport, it’s convenient and easy, your Ekka excitement starts at the station. You can access discounted return train tickets at $6 for adults and $3 for children, by showing a valid Ekka admission ticket.

Airtrain can get you from the Brisbane Airport to your chosen Brisbane City station. From there, catch the dedicated trains to the Exhibition Station, which will drop you right in the middle of the showgrounds. Buses also regularly run to the Ekka from locations around Brisbane.
