Track work on the Brisbane City and Gold Coast Line
Due to Cross River Rail construction works, all Airtrain services to and from the Brisbane City and the Gold Coast will be affected by track work between Eagle Junction and Roma Street stations on Friday 27th December 2024.
Before travelling we recommend you plan your journey using the Translink journey planner, find your station’s rail replacement bus stop location, and allow extra travel time for your journey. For more information on this service impact click here to visit the Translink website or call 13 12 30.

Travelling to Brisbane Airport
- All trains from Eagle Junction will depart 6 minutes later than the normal timetable. Please click here to see the special timetable for this date.
- Gold Coast and Beenleigh travel: All trains will terminate at Roma Street station where customers will disembark and travel by a rail replacement bus from Roma Street to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport.
- Brisbane City:
- If you are travelling from Boggo Road/Park Road, Southbank and South Brisbane station, catch the train to Roma Street station and transfer to the rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport.
- If you are travelling from Roma Street, Central, Fortitude Valley, Bowen Hills, Albion and Wooloowin stations, catch a rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport.
- Caboolture, Nambour, Sunshine Coast, and Redcliffe Peninsula travel: Change trains at Northgate station to travel to the Airport.
- Shorncliffe travel: This train will continue to Airport line, stay on board to travel to Airport.
- Ferny Grove travel: Catch a rail replacement bus to Bowen Hills station, then change to a rail replacement bus to travel to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport.
- Cleveland travel: Catch a train and transfer to rail replacement bus to travel between Cannon Hill and Boggo Road/ Park Road station and change to a train to Roma Street station to travel on rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport.
- Springfield, Ipswich, and Rosewood travel: Catch a train to Roma Street station and transfer to the rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction station to catch a connecting train to the Airport.
- Doomben travel: This service terminates at Eagle Junction, change trains at Eagle Junction station.
Travelling from Brisbane Airport
- All trains from Brisbane Airport will depart 5 minutes later than the normal timetable. Please click here to see the special timetable for this date.
- Gold Coast and Beenleigh travel: All trains will terminate at Eagle Junction station. Customers travelling to the Gold Coast will need to catch a rail replacement bus from Eagle Junction station to Roma Street station for connecting train to your destination.
- Brisbane City:
- If you are travelling to Roma Street, Fortitude Valley, Central, Bowen Hills, Albion and Wooloowin stations, disembark at Eagle Junction station to catch the rail replacement bus to your destination.
- If you are travelling to Park Road, South Bank and South Brisbane, disembark at Eagle Junction station to catch the rail replacement bus to Roma Street station and catch a connecting train to your destination.
- Caboolture, Nambour, Sunshine Coast, and Redcliffe Peninsula travel: Change trains at Northgate station to your destination.
- Shorncliffe travel: This train will continue to the Shorncliffe line, stay on board to travel to your destination.
- Ferny Grove travel: Change to the rail replacement bus at Eagle Junction station to travel to Bowen Hills station, then catch the connecting rail replacement bus to your destination.
- Cleveland travel: Disembark at Eagle Junction station to catch the rail replacement bus to Roma Street station and catch a connecting train to Boggo Road/Park Road and transfer to rail replacement bus to travel between Boggo Road/ Park Road and Cannon Hill station to catch a connecting train to your destination.
- Springfield, Ipswich and Rosewood travel: Disembark at Eagle Junction station to catch the rail replacement bus to Roma Street station and change for a connecting train to your destination.
- Doomben travel: Change trains at Eagle Junction station.
TRAVEL TIP: When travelling on the rail replacement bus, place your luggage on the seat next to you or under the seat so it is within easy reaching distance. You may also ask your bus driver for ramp assistance when entering or exiting the bus to assist with your luggage.
