Venues and Events

As an important stop on the tour list of many incredible artists, Brisbane and the Gold Coast see regular visits from the biggest stars. There is also plenty of home-grown talent to support – the likes of Katie Noonan, Powderfinger, Savage Garden, The Veronicas, and a host of other musicians all began in Brisbane, and many more are on their way.
The Triffid, Felon’s Barrel Hall, The Princess Theatre, and the Eaton’s Hill Hotel are smaller venues with a big reputation for showcasing true talent. Getting Around Brisbane and the Gold Coast
With Airtrain, you can travel quickly and comfortably from the airport to Brisbane City in 20 minutes. Our trains run every 15 minutes during peak hours, and every 30 during off-peak. Disembark at your chosen station – Airtrain runs express from the airport, but stops at Fortitude Valley, Central, Roma Street, and South Brisbane stations. You can then transfer onto our Gold Coast services.
Once there, Brisbane and the Gold Coast are connected by an extensive network of trains, buses, and G:link trams. All public transport uses a smart card for travel, or you can purchase a paper ticket.
Short term visitors should check out the go seeQ card, which allows you unlimited travel for 3 or 5 consecutive days on buses, trains, ferries and G:link trams. It also includes 2 Airtrain journeys to/from the Brisbane Airport.
For longer stays, travel like the locals with a go card – just touch on at your station of departure and touch off when you arrive at your destination.
