Concession fares are available for eligible passengers with a valid identification when travelling between Brisbane Airport and South East Queensland Suburban stations. Concession fares do not apply for travel between Brisbane Airport and Brisbane City stations.

Please note that you must carry your proof of concession entitlement with you at all times and show it to the driver or authorised person when asked.

Purchasing tickets

At the station: You can purchase eligible concession tickets at arrival to the station. You must provide your valid identification in order to receive the concession fare.

Travel by go card: Airtrain accepts all go cards. Children go cards can be purchased at the station. Please check the card advice below for applicability.

Online: In order to purchase a concession ticket your identification must be verified, therefore it cannot be purchased online.

Travel with Smart Ticketing: The payment system does not currently support concession fares.

Please note that The Health Care Card issued by Services Australia, Pensioner Concession Card, Senior Card, DVA/ Veteran card, and student cards are not accepted.

A 100% concession applies for Airtrain and the Translink network.

Free travel including to all Brisbane City and Suburban stations is provided to one companion or carer travelling with a Companion Card holder. However, the Companion card holder must have a valid ticket for travel.

A 100% concession applies for the Translink network only, Airtrain is not included.

Free travel is available between Brisbane City and South East Queensland Suburban stations is provided to the cardholder of a TPI/EDA Veteran Travel card. The cardholder will need to purchase a valid ticket for travel on Airtrain. To purchase the cheapest ticket, book an Adult ticket online to a Brisbane City station.

Free travel is available between Brisbane City and South East Queensland Suburban stations is provided to the cardholder of a Vision Impairment Travel Pass. The cardholder will need to purchase a valid ticket for travel on Airtrain. To purchase the cheapest ticket, book an Adult ticket online to a Brisbane City station.

Children travel free* on Airtrain between Brisbane Airport and Brisbane City when accompanied by an adult travelling on a paper ticket or an e-ticket. Click here to find out more*T&Cs apply

Discounted travel is available between Brisbane City and South East Queensland Suburban stations is provided to children (5-14 years). A concession card is not required.

Free travel is available for infants (0-4 years). A ticket is not required.

Ticket types:

  • A paper ticket can be purchased on arrival at the station.
  • A child go card can be purchased at the station. There is a $10 minimum cost for a go card, a $5 deposit for the card plus $10 for preloaded travel credit.
