The following stations are closed for Cross River Rail construction works and accessibility upgrades.

Banyo station is closed until late-2024. Click here for alternative services information.

29-30 March 2025

Full Track Closure between the Airport, Brisbane City, and the Northern Lines

From the first service Saturday 29 March until the last service Sunday 30 March 2025, there will be a full track closure between the Airport, Brisbane City, and the northern lines. Rail Buses will replace trains in both directions.

Travelling to Brisbane Airport  

• Gold Coast and Beenleigh travel: Disembark at Roma Street Station to catch the express rail replacement bus to the Airport. Express bus R700 will be operating every 15 minutes from 6:04am-10:04pm with 10 minutes services between 7am-5pm from Bus stop 125.
• Brisbane City travel:
  • If you are travelling from Central or Fortitude Valley Stations, catch the train to Roma Street station to connect with the express rail replacement bus to the Airport. Express buses will be operating every 15 minutes from 6:04am-22:05pm with 10 minutes services between 7am-5pm from Bus stop 125.
  • • • On Sunday 30th March from 05:34am to 09:34am, the R700 Rail Bus will depart from Roma Street Busway Platform 1, due to Road closures in place for the ‘Run army’ running event. This service will return to normal from 10:04am.
  • If you are travelling from Bowen Hills, Albion, Wooloowin, or Eagle Junction Stations, catch all stops rail replacement bus to the Bus R701 will be operating every 30 minutes.

• Caboolture, Sunshine Coast, Redcliffe Peninsula, Shorncliffe, and Doomben travel: Catch the rail replacement bus to Eagle Junction Station and transfer to all stops rail replacement bus to the Airport. Bus R701 will be operating from Eagle Junction station every 30 minutes.
• Ferny Grove travel: Catch a Ferny Grove train to Bowen Hills station, then catch all stops rail replacement bus from Bowen Hills to the Airport. Bus R701 will be operating every 30 minutes.
• Cleveland, Springfield, Ipswich, and Rosewood travel: Disembark at Roma Street Station to catch the express rail replacement bus to the Airport. Express buses will be operating every 15 minutes from 6:04am-22:04pm with 10 minutes services between 7am-5pm from Bus stop 125.

Travelling from Brisbane Airport

TRAVEL TIP: When travelling on the rail replacement bus, place your luggage on the seat next to you or under the seat so it is within easy reaching distance. You may also ask your bus driver for ramp assistance when entering or exiting the bus to assist with your luggage.

Track work on the Gold Coast Line

All Airtrain services to and from the Gold Coast will be affected by track work between Boggo Road/Park Road and Varsity Lakes Stations on Friday 18^th, Saturday 19^th, Sunday 20^th and Monday 21^st April 2025. Rail Buses will replace trains in both directions.
