Ways to travel with Airtrain
You can buy Airtrain tickets
the way that suits you.
When you buy a ticket online with Airtrain, a bar-coded E-Ticket will be sent to your email account. This E-Ticket can either be printed at home and presented to the train station staff to be scanned, or uploaded using the link in the email to your smartphone for scanning.
Your confirmation email should arrive within 10 minutes. If it takes longer than this, please email email@example.com or call freecall 1800 119 091 and quote your reservation number so the confirmation can be re-sent.
Airtrain do not confirm a train time when you book online. Your ticket is valid for any train service up to 2 days from travel date on ticket.
The Airtrain E-Tickets are fully transferable.
Bookings cannot be cancelled online. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to request a cancellation.
Refunds are permitted under certain circumstances - See Cancellation and Refunds for more information in our Terms and Conditions.
Airtrain tickets can be purchased at both the Domestic and International stations and every Queensland Rail Station in South East Queensland.
Our airport stations always have someone you can speak to. Please feel free to speak with a friendly Airtrain staff member to make your travel as easy as possible.
All suburban train stations on the Queensland Rail network sell tickets to the Brisbane Airport. Should the station be unattended, there are ticketing machines available that operate all hours.
Tickets bought at the station, including those from ticketing machines, are for travel on the day of purchase only.
All South East Queensland stations, including the Domestic and International Airport stations, have gocard facilities – so you can use a gocard for your Airtrain travel.
You can top-up, receive a balance and obtain a refund on your gocard at the Domestic and International Airport stations. This, except for refunds, can be performed at the Ticket Vending Machine and at the Airtrain ticket windows.
Adult, Concession (except for Post-secondary student) Senior and Child Go Cards can be purchased at the Airport stations. They require a minimum spend of $30, this includes $20 credit and a $10 card deposit for Adult Go cards, and $25 credit and $5 deposit for all others. For Tertiary/Post-secondary students to be eligible for concession fares, you need to obtain your tertiary pass and Go Card from Translink; please see Translink for more information. Airtrain cannot apply the concession fare unless you have obtained the necessary cards through Translink.

For travellers that
For regular travellers between the Brisbane Airport and either Brisbane City or the Gold Coast, a book of 10 tickets may provide your most economical option.
Ticket Books are popular for businesses as an easy way to manage the cost of travel to and from the airport - saving money against taxis fares.
- Brisbane City ticket books are valid for travel to and from all stations between the Airport and South Brisbane station including: Bowen Hills, Fortitude Valley Station, Central Station and Roma Street stations.
- Gold Coast ticket books are valid for travel between the Airport and Gold Coast stations including: including Coomera, Helensvale, Nerang, Robina and Varsity Lakes.

You can also buy Ticket Books directly from the Airtrain ticket office at both the Domestic and International stations.
Information for Airport staff
Airtrain offers discounted Airtrain tickets for all workers within the Brisbane Airport Precinct.
What you need to purchase tickets
To take advantage of this special offer you need to produce your current ASIC card or a letter confirming your employment at the Brisbane Airport to Airtrain station staff at either the International or Domestic stations.
Brisbane Airport workers tickets are available for travel between the Brisbane Airport stations and the following Brisbane City stations: South Brisbane, Roma Street, Central, Fortitude Valley, Bowen Hills and Eagle Junction. Travel beyond these stations will require an additional ticket which can be purchased from your local Queensland Rail station or the Airtrain stations.
Weekly Ticket - $37.00
The weekly paper ticket allows you unlimited travel between the Brisbane Airport and Brisbane City stations for a 7 day period.
Book of 20 Tickets - $120.00
These tickets are ideal for shift workers and others that don't work at the airport every weekday.
What you need to purchase tickets
You must have a valid ticket each time you travel on the train, and present this with your Staff ID card when entering and exiting the train station. Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be used by another person. The employment letter is required to be updated every 12 months or on request by Airtrain.
Weekly tickets and Book of 20 tickets for Brisbane Airport Workers are only available at International and Domestic Airport stations. It is your responsibility to ensure you have a valid train ticket prior to arriving at the Airport stations. Failure to do so will result a full adult fare from CBD station is being charged on top of any tickets you wish to purchase.
Workers at Skygate and Brisbane Airport Service Centre are also eligible for the discount tickets.
